Bali is famous for its arts and crafts, but nothing prepared me for the moment I stumbled upon the infamous penis-shaped wooden keychains that are sold all over the island.

At first, I was taken aback—why would anyone want a keychain shaped like that? But after seeing the humor in it, I couldn’t help but laugh.

These keychains are a perfect example of the playful and lighthearted spirit of the Balinese people. They’re meant to be cheeky souvenirs, often bought as a joke or a gag gift. The vendors selling them are usually in on the joke too, with a smile and a wink as they offer them up. It’s one of those “only in Bali” moments that adds a touch of whimsy to your trip and makes for a funny story to tell your friends back home.

3. Beautiful Handcrafts Everywhere

Bali is a paradise for anyone who appreciates art and craftsmanship. The island is teeming with skilled artisans who create everything from intricate wood carvings and traditional textiles to stunning jewelry and pottery. Every village seems to specialize in a different craft, and it’s impossible to walk through a market or along a street without being drawn in by the sheer beauty and diversity of the handmade goods on display.

Bali’s beaches are some of the most beautiful in the world, and one of the best things about them is that they are accessible to everyone—completely free of charge. Whether you’re looking to surf, sunbathe, or simply take a leisurely stroll along the shore, there’s no need to pay an entrance fee to enjoy the island’s natural beauty.

On top of that, the cost of enjoying a refreshing coconut by the beach is incredibly affordable. At just around $2, you can sip on fresh coconut water while taking in the breathtaking views of the ocean. It’s one of the simple pleasures that make Bali such a wonderful place to relax and unwind without breaking the bank. The combination of free beach access and affordable refreshments makes it easy to spend an entire day soaking up the sun and the laid-back vibe that Bali is famous for.
